2024 Picture Coding Symposium (PCS), June 12–14, 2024, Taichung, Taiwan
The Picture Coding Symposium (PCS) is an international forum devoted to advances in visual data coding. Established in 1969, it has the longest history of any conference in this area. The 37th event in the series, PCS 2024, will convene in Taichung, Taiwan. Taichung is centrally located in the western half of Taiwan. It is known as an art and cultural hub of Taiwan, being home to many national museums, historic attractions, art installations, and design boutiques.
The 37th edition of PCS in Taiwan will be organized and led by an international organizing committee. The General Chairs are Prof. Chia-Wen Lin (林嘉文), NTHU, Taiwan and Prof. Joern Ostermann, LUH, Germany. The Technical Program Chairs include Prof. Wen-Hsiao Peng (彭文孝), NYCU, Taiwan, Prof. Mathias Wien, RWTH Aachen, Germany, and Prof. Byeungwoo Jeon, SKKU, Korea. PCS 2024 shall feature a technical program that invites contributions and experts from the globe to address jointly the new frontiers of visual data coding due to the fast emergence of new visual data modalities (e.g. point cloud, light field, volumetric video), applications (e.g. coding for machines and compressed-domain image/video analytics), services (e.g. virtual, augmented, and mixed reality) and techniques (e.g. learning-based coding).
